Spice up your coffee!!

I had already received two limited edition coffee flavors made by Godiva Chocolatiers and both the Chocolate Truffle and French Vanilla flavored coffee are a big hit when we invite friends home for dinner. Recently, Godiva introduced two new flavors specially launched for the fall season and as part of the foodbuzz Tastemaker’s program, I was invited to try Pumpkin spice and Caramel Pecan Bark coffee flavors,created by the chocolatiers.

N is a big fan of Latte’s from a very famous coffee chain and given that I was invited to try pumpkin spice flavor, we have been making latte’s of every flavor every weekend :)

Both Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Pecan bark have a rich taste,my favorite was the caramel pecan bark as it had the smooth taste of a layer of a chocolate expertly blended with the pecans and coffee beans.

Apart from making lattes or shakes, I would also recommend using these flavors to make coffee cakes or cookies for your holiday parties.I am sure your guests are going to wonder what combinations you used in that cake to give it such a rich and creamy taste!

This is how I made a Pumpkin spiced latte topped with cocoa :)

Serves-2:

120 ml milk
3 cups freshly brewed coffee
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 tsp sugar

Method:

Heat the milk for 2-3 minutes on stove top till it is about to bubble over.

To make the foam, I actually used my electric egg beater to whisk the milk. You can also whisk it with a fork if you like or use a latte frother.

In a serving cup, add the coffee and sugar and stir once, then top it with the milk. Dust some cocoa powder on top with a sprinkler(I used my mini filter). Serve hot! or Grab and go for a busy morning along with some bagels or donuts.

Taste-testing coffee flavors!

Recently, I learned about flavorful varieties of coffee created by Godiva Chocolatiers and given the Texas summer, I was thinking about making iced coffees for weekend get-togethers. As part of the foodbuzz Tastemaker’s program, I was invited to try two flavors, French Vanilla and Chocolate Truffle, created by the chocolatiers.

Both French Vanilla and Chocolate truffle had a creamy taste and I was thinking that it would be a good option to serve them as after-dinner coffees too. Since chocolate truffle was medium roast and had a rich milk chocolate taste to it, I made iced coffee with this ground coffee powder. I am a big fan of chocolate milkshakes so obviously it was my first choice for iced coffee.


How to make iced coffee:

I just made regular coffee in the coffee maker(used about 2 tbsp of coffee powder per cup of water), allowed it to cool to room temperature. Added about 1 tbsp of sugar to the coffee and 1/2 cup of milk and blended it with ice in a blender. Sometimes I add condensed milk too, as it adds richness to the iced coffee.

I also made regular coffee for early morning rush and both flavors gave me a good boost to start the day.

After tasting these two flavors I’d say, if you get a chance to try it, go for it. You can even create your own frappes or mochas or speciality coffees, using your imagination and using a blend of these flavors too.
